Shinde Energy Studies Laboratory, Physics Department, Shivaji University, Kolhapur-416 004 (India) (Received September 25, 1992; accepted January 4, 1993) Abstract Physics, 35 (1993) 86-91 an aqueous Ternary alloyed films of Y-Ba-Cu with the composition 1:2:3 are synthesized successfully for the first time using the pulse electrodeposition technique. The effect of the frequency of square wave pulses on the nature and thickness of alloyed films has been studied in depth. It was found that a 50 Hz square wave pulse at -1.55 V versus SCE gives optimum quality of the alloyed films. The kinetics of the growth mechanism of alloyed films has been studied and is discussed at length. The films have been oxidised and were found to show superconductivity below 90 K.
