It was reported that N,N'-bis(salicylidene>2-hydroxy-l,3- propanediamine forms a tri nuclear complex with Zn 2+ [3]. In this study, a trinuclear complex was obtained between a similar ligand N,N'-bis(salicyhdene)-2,2'-dimethyHl,3-propanediamine) andzyxwvutsrqponmlihgfedcbaZTON Ζη(Π) and it structure was elucidated . The presence of anions such as acetate or nitrate where the angle between two oxygens is 120° the complex formed tends to have tri nuclear structure [3-4]. It was observed that the presence anions such as chloride or fluoride caused the complex formed having dinuclear structure [5]. An anion such as azide results in the formation of complexes having number of nuclei greater than three [6]. The complex has the central Zn 2+ ion located on inversion centre, has a octahedral coordination involving four bridging Ο atoms from two N,N'-bis-(salicylidene)-l,3-propanediamine ligands in the equatorial plane [Ol, 02, ΟΓ and 02"; symmetry code: (a) -x, -y, -z ]. As seen from (Fig. 1) the terminal Zn 2+ have five edge 255
