Nesta perspectiva, a partir da revisão bibliográfica, o estudo discute as contribuições dos métodos baseados no princípio analítico-sintético e no global-funcional para o desenvolvimento técnico do iniciante e jovem atleta de basquetebol. Considerando vantagens e desvantagens dos dois princípios, indicamos o segundo com maiores possibilidades de contribuir com a formação do atleta, uma vez que respeita as características imprevisíveis do jogo e as características abertas de suas técnicas. PEDAGOGY OF SPORTS AND BASKETBALL: methodological aspects for the motor and the technical training development of the beginner athlete Abstract: One of the relevant aspects to the formation of the basketball athlete is the motor skill, which development should be connected to other dimensions, like the cognitive, affective and social. In this perspective, starting with the bibliographic review, this study discusses the contributions of methods based on the analytic-synthetic and global-functional principles for the technical development of the young and beginner basketball player. Considering both principles, we indicate the second one as having more possibilities of contributing to the formation of the athlete, once it respects the unpredictable features of the game and the opened features of its techniques.
