Ambos habían permanecido inéditos hasta el siglo XXI. Aunque en 2004 se editó A moira encantada en un suplemento de un periódico portugués, el otro poema no había sido publicado todavía en letra de molde. Las dos composiciones se estudian aquí desde la perspectiva de sus fuentes, confirmándose la teoría de que Garrett dominaba la bibliografía romanceril castellana. En este caso particular, se observa su fascinación hacia el romancero morisco o, dicho de forma más amplia, hacia el elemento moro que, desde su planteamiento, le otorga materia poética importante, hecho que se refleja en las paradojas con que aborda a la mujer mora. ABSTRACT This study aims to edit and discuss two narrative poems by the Portuguese ballad editor Almeida Garrett (1799- 1854): Passeando andava o mouro and A moira encantada. Both had remained unpublished until the 21st century. Although A moira encantada was published in 2004 in a supplement to a Portuguese newspaper, the first poem had not yet appeared in print. The two poems are discussed here from the perspective of their sources, confirming the idea that Garrett had a strong mastery of Castilian ballad bibliography. In this particular case, we observe his attraction to the Moorish romancero or, more broadly, to the Moorish element which, from his point of view, gives him significant poetic material, a fact that is also reflected in the contradictions with which he addresses the Moorish woman.
