Following the generation of the strategy typology, are presented cases where the concepts are used for strategies in the information technology field. The study is justified by delivering to strategists a set of formulas of strategy developed along many years by several researchers of this field. The presented typology showed its robustness by addressing all the strategy definitions found. The use of this typology in the information technology field showed how the functional strategy level could be linked to the competitive strategy level, instead of only being a way to enhance the operational efficiency.
