Sifat mikroplastik yang menempel pada semua molekul dapat mengkontaminasi biota perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifkasi mikroplastik pada udang dan ikan di sungai Brantas. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). Metode ini memiliki beberapa tahap yaitu sampling, identifkasi sampel, dan analisis data. Pengambilan sampel diambil sebanyak 9 stasiun. Menurut metode NOAA (National Oceanic and atmospheric Administration), sampel perlu dilakukan pemberian H 2 O 2 dengan kosentrasi 30 % dan FeSO 4 dengan konsentrasi 0.05 M dan sampel diinkubasi selama 24 jam. Hasil yang diperoleh ditemukan sebanyak 5-15 partikel/ekor pada udang (Macrobrachium equides) dan pada ikan sebanyak 11-345 partikel/ekor. Peran masyarakat sangat penting dalam pengurangan penggunaan plastik sekali pakai yang menjadi penyebab utama adanya kontaminasi mikroplastik. Sebaiknya perlu adanya pengolahan limbah dengan mengolahnya terlebih dahulu sebelum dibuang ke sungai, serta membuat regulasi penggunaan sampah plastik sekali pakai. ABSTRACT: Microplastics are particles that are <5 mm in size. The nature of microplastics that stick to all molecules can contaminate aquatic biota. This study aims to identify microplastics in shrimp and fsh in the Brantas river. This research method uses the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) method. This method has several stages, namely sampling, sample identifcation, and data analysis. Sampling was taken as many as 9 stations. According to the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) method, samples need to be administered with H 2 O 2 with a concentration of 30% and FeSO 4 with a concentration of 0.05 M and the samples are incubated for 24 hours. The results obtained found 5-15 particles/head in shrimp (Macrobrachium equides) and in fsh as many as 11-345 particles/head. The role of society is very important in reducing the use of single-use plastic which is the main cause of microplastic contamination. It is better if there is a need for waste treatment by processing it frst before being discharged into the river, as well as making regulations on the use of single-use plastic waste.
