Num 1 Background and Aims Numerous treatment modalites have been suggested for patents with medial tbial stress syndrome (MTSS), but the efectveness of these interventons is stll unknown. Therefore, this study aimed to provide a systematc review of the therapeutc efcacy of kinesio taping (KT) and foot orthosis for patents with MTSS. Methods The related artcles were searched using selected keywords in Embase, Scopus, Medline, SPORTDiscus, Web of Science, Biomed Central, and PubMed databases from incepton to May 2021. Afer deletng duplicate and unrelated artcles, the full text of 9 artcles was received from the databases. Results According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, only 9 artcles were eligible for the present review study, of which 5 artcles examined the efectveness of KT and 4 artcles the efectveness of plantar orthosis for people with MTSS. Previous studies showed that using ant-pronaton KT can help reduce peak plantar pressure and pain and improve the functon of patents with MTSS. Additonally, using the arch support foot orthosis can help correct the pressure distributon patern under the foot and reduce the foot contact tme, resultng in faster pain relief and the physical limitatons caused by the MTSS. Conclusion Based on the review artcles, results indicate that both therapeutc interventons can be used to correct the pressure distributon patern under the foot, reduce the pain and eliminate physical limitatons caused by injuries in individuals with MTSS.
