One of her previous books, A Room in Athens (Tinta da China Press, 2018), which was awarded the Pen Award for Poetry in Portugal in 2019, features several poems set in Greece. Tonia Tzirita Zacharatou is a Greek poet and scholar who is currently working on a Greek translation of Tatiana Faia’s latest book, Hadrian (Não Edições, 2022). In December 2022, they met in Athens to conclude the project and discuss poetry and translation for the Journal of Greek Media & Culture. Tonia Tzirita Zacharatou (TTZ): You started as a classicist. Was there a sense of idealization of Greece because of your education? How did you
