This study used a purposive sampling technique for taking informants, namely informants who were selected or determined intentionally. Data analysis techniques used descriptive qualitative analysis include data presentation, reduction, and drawing conclusions.The results showed that the management of seaweed in Bontosunggu Village, Tamalatea District, Jeneponto Regency started with seeding, planting at sea and post-harvest harvesting carried out by farmers only until drying. The social capital adopted by farmers and traders in seaweed farming in Bontosunggu Village, Tamalatea District, Jeneponto Regency (1) This mutual trust grows and is rooted in the values inherent in the culture of the community, one of the most important elements in trust is the behavior honest, tolerant and fair. (2) Normsare rules that are expected to be obeyed and followed by the community, both written and unwritten, social norms adopted by farmers are formed through traditions that are always carried out by farmers. (3) Social networks that still have close and strong ties through the exchange of information in addition to the existence of a network, it is easy for farmers to sell their farm products (4) Reciprocal relationships that are still carried out by both farmers and traders are helping each other both in terms of energy and capital it can facilitate the work of seaweed farmers in completing their work in seaweed farming.
