Self management merupakan pengendalian diri yang dilakukan oleh pasien diabetes melitus mencakup diet, aktivitas fisik, pengontrolan glukosa darah dan penggunaan pelayanan kesehatan untuk mencapai kadar gula darah yang optimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan self management dengan glukosa darah sewaktu pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe II. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif korelatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Populasi dari penelitian ini seluruh pasien diabetes melitus tipe II di Poliklinik Endokrin RSDUZA. Sampel ditetapkan berdasarkan purposive sampling didapatkan 130 pasien. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ). Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 72,31% pasien memiliki self management cukup dan glukosa darah sewaktu pasien tidak terkontrol. Hasil nilai p-value 0,0001 (p<0,05) menunjukkan ada hubungan antara antara self management dengan glukosa darah sewaktu pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe II. Direkomendasikan kepada petugas kesehatan agar dapat meningkatkan pendidikan kesehatan terkait self management seperti aktifitas fisik, diet, pengontrolan kadar gula darah dan penggunaan pelayanan kesehatan. Kata Kunci: Diabetes melitus tipe II, Self management, Glukosa darah sewaktu, Rawat jalan ABSTRACT Type II diabetes mellitus is a global health problem that continues to increase, the length of treatment in patients with type II diabetes mellitus can cause complications and even death. Self management is self- control carried out by patients with diabetes mellitus including diet, physical activity, controlling blood sugar levels and the utilization of health services to achieve optimal blood sugar levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of self management with the value of blood glucose random in patients with type II diabetes. This type of research used descriptive correlative methods with cross-sectional research designs. The population of this study were all patients with type II diabetes who were outpatient in February 2019 at Endocrine Polyclinic RSUDZA. The sample was determined based on purposive sampling and obtained 130 patients. The data collection tool used the Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ). The research were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that 72.31% of patients had sufficient self management and blood glucose levels on patients were not controlled. The results of the p-value of 0,0001 (p <0.05) showed that there was a correlation between self management and the value of blood glucose levels on patients with type II diabetes.
