ABSTRACT COVID-19 spreads and is transmitted from sufferers to other people at close range and can be infected through bodily fluids such as saliva or mucus. Efforts to suppress positive cases continue to be made in South Bengkulu Regency, especially prevention efforts. The aim of the study was to find out the differences in the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol in rural and urban areas of South Bengkulu Regency. This type of research was quantitative and had a qualitative background with a cross sectional design. Data collection used a checklist. The sampling technique used quota sampling. The number of samples was 1000 people consisting of 10 locations in rural areas and 10 locations in urban areas with a large sample of 50 people each. The data analysises used were univariate and bivariate. Statistical test using Independent Samples t-Test. The results showed that there were differences in the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol in rural and urban areas of South Bengkuu Regency. To overcome the spread of COVID-19, it is recommended that stakeholder policies, especially in rural areas, include limiting the number of seats for invited guests, enough space to arrange seats with a distance of 1 meter. It is also necessary to provide sanctions for people who violate the provisions. Another alternative that can be done is that the event leader/chairman always gives an appeal to guests to implement health protocols.
