Veteran III Banjarwaru Ciawi, Bogor tatankostaman@gmail.com ABSTRACT The program of Bedah Kemiskinan Rakyat Sejahtera (BEKERJA) is to reduce poverty, especially in the villages and improve the welfare of the farmers. The IAARD provides assistance kampung unggul Balitbangtan (KUB) chicken that has higher egg productivity. This paper was made to see the performance of KUB chickens in the program Bekerja Jatiwangi Village, Pakenjeng District, Garut Regency which were received by Rumah Tangga Miskin (RTM). The observations are made in August 2018-November 2018. KUB chicken age are 0 day-12 weeks with the number of RTM observed as many as 10 RTM. The variables observed consist of body weight (g), body weight gain (g), and population development. The results obtained for the average body weight at 0 day were 39.67 g/head, 4 weeks were 247.68 g/head, 8 weeks were 745.27 g/head (♀) and 772.02 g/head (♂), while after 12 weeks were 1346 g/head (♀) and 1875.2 g/head (♂). The body weight gain was 108.03 g/head/week (♀) and 152.13 g/head/week ♂), respectively. Meanwhile, the decline in KUB chicken population at the observation site reached 12.41%. It can be concluded that the KUB chicken in the program Bekerja in Jatiwangi Village, Pakenjeng District, Garut Regency shows good performance in terms of body weight and body weight gain. Key words: Bekerja program, body weight, population, KUB chicken ABSTRAK Program Bedah Kemiskinan Rakyat Sejahtera (BEKERJA) adalah upaya untuk menekan angka kemiskinan, khususnya di desa serta mengangkat kesejahteraan petani. Badan Litbang Pertanian memberikan bantuan bibit ayam kampung unggul Balitbangtan (KUB) yang mempunyai produktivitas telur lebih tinggi. Makalah ini di buat untuk melihat performan ayam KUB di program BEKERJA Desa Jatiwangi, Kecamatan Pakenjeng, Kabupaten Garut yang diterima oleh Rumah Tangga Miskin (RTM). Pengamatan dilakukan pada bulan Agustus 2018-November 2018. Umur ayam KUB adalah 0 hari-12 minggu dengan jumlah RTM yang diamati sebanyak 10 RTM. Peubah yang diamati adalah bobot badan (g), pertambahan bobot badan (g), dan perkembangan populasi. Hasil yang diperoleh untuk rataan bobot badan pada umur 0 hari sebesar 39,67 g/ekor, umur 4 minggu sebesar 247,68 g/ekor, umur 8 minggu mencapai 745,27 g/ekor (♀) dan 772,02 g/ekor (♂), sedangkan setelah umur 12 minggu sebesar 1346 g/ekor (♀) dan 1875,2 g/ekor (♀). Pertambahan bobot badan berturut-turut sebesar 108,03 g/ekor/minggu (♀) dan 152,13 g/ekor/minggu (♂). Sementara itu, penurunan populasi ayam KUB di lokasi pengamatan mencapai 12,41%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ayam KUB di program BEKERJA Desa Jatiwangi, Kecamatan Pakenjeng, Kabupaten Garut memperlihatkan performan yang baik dilihat dari bobot badan dan pertambahan bobot badan.
