This research is motivated by the limited learning resources used by students and the lack of teacher ability in developing teaching materials in the form of modules and other teaching materials. In addition, the learning process is still dominantly teacher centered and the learning model used is still conventional. The purpose of this study was to produce teaching materials in the form of Discovery Learning Based Modules with Local Potential Nuances in Plantae Materials in Class X MAN 2 Religion that are valid and practical. This type of research is development research (R&D) using the 4 D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), but in this research it only reaches the develop stage. The instruments used are validation sheets and practicality questionnaires. The results of the study show that the developed teaching materials fulfill all aspects of a development research and are in accordance with the characteristics of a teaching material. The developed teaching materials have a validity percentage of 90.86% in the very valid category and the teacher's practicality percentage is 96.15% in the very practical category and the students' practicality percentage is 90.15% in the very practical category. Teaching materials developed based on the Discovery Learning approach with local potential nuances can be used in biology learning in class X MAN level plantae materials. Pendahuluan Pembelajaran Biologi merupakan pembelajaran yang berkaitan dengan alam sekitar secara sistematis dan pembelajaran tidak hanya terfokus pada pemahaman konsep, tetapi juga merupakan proses penemuan sehingga siswa dapat berfikir kritis (Tanjung, 2016, p. 66). Pembelajaran biologi adalah suatu proses penemuan, artinya pembelajaran yang menuntut siswa untuk dapat menemukan konsep secara langsung. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat membatu siswa dalam menemukan konsep adalah model Discovery Learning. Discovery Learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang dapat membantu terwujudnya pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa, mengembangkan sikap kritis siswa dan menekankan pengalaman langsung dalam menemukan konsep pembelajaran serta pembelajaran yang bersifat kontekstual dapat mendorong siswa lebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran (Giawa et al., 2022, p. 413). Proses pembelajaran Biologi perlunya memanfaatkan lingkungan sebagai sumber belajar, karena Biologi tidak hanya mempelajari tentang makhluk hidup saja, melainkan tentang makhluk hidup dengan segala interaksi yang terjadi di lingkungannya (Jayawardana & Gita, 2020, p. 60).
