E L RESURGIMIENTO DEL INCONSCIENTE: SU HISTORIA DESDE LA PSICOLOGÍA CIENTÍFICA Y EL ESTUDIO DEL APRENDIZAJE IMPLÍCITO JAIRO A. ROZO CASTILLO * GABRIEL RUIZ UNIVERSIDAD DE SEVILLA, ESPAÑA ABSTRACT This article presents a historic review of the study of the unconscious in scientific psychology, its trajectory as an object of study- accepted or not- among academics and its development parallel to the subject of awareness. After a brief look at the latest contributions explaining conscious processing of information, we will deal with the origins of the study of the unconscious; starting with the first studies in the 18 th century, then its fall in the beginning of the 20 th century and its later return in the middle of the same century- already as the study of the cognitive unconscious. Afterwards we will discuss its current state as an object of high interest now rather called “the implicit” and still maintaining itself as a fruitful field of investigation and debate. We will finish the article by presenting the example of implicit learning and its main models: the artificial grammars, serial learning and dynamic systems. RESUMEN El presente artículo desarrolla la revisión histórica del estudio de inconsciente en la psicología científica, sus idas y venidas como objeto de estudio -aceptado o no- dentro del círculo de los académicos, y su desarrollo paralelo al tema de la conciencia. Después de una sintética mirada a los más recientes aportes para entender el procesamiento consciente de la información, recorreremos el nacimiento del inconsciente, desde los primeros estudios en el siglo XVIII, su caída a principios del siglo XX, y su posterior resurgimiento a mediados del pasado siglo -ya como inconsciente cognitivo-, para llegar a la cresta de la ola en la actualidad, bajo la nueva denominación de implícito, manteniéndose como una área fructífera de investigación y debate. Finalizamos el trabajo, presentando el ejemplo del aprendizaje implícito y sus principales modelos de trabajo: las gramáticas artificiales, el aprendizaje serial y los sistemas dinámicos.
