Abstrak
Teknologi pada media game telah menggeser fungsi yang sebelumnya dikenal sebagai media entertainment menjadi media
multi guna, salah satunya adalah sebagai media edukasi. Game saat ini ramai dimanfaatkan oleh banyak pihak untuk
menjadi media edukasi yang lebih dekat dan nyaman bagi masyarakat, salah satunya game Covid Fighter yang bertujuan
untuk memberikan edukasi terhadap anak sekolah agar pada saat melakukan kegiatan tatap muka di sekolah, siswa/I sudah
siap menghadapinya di masa pandemi ini. Merrill’s First Principles of Instruction menyatakan bahwa dalam sebuah edukasi
terdapat aspek-aspek instruksi yang harus dimiliki agar pelajar dapat menyerap informasi pelajaran dengan baik. Aspek
tersebut diantaranya Problem, Activation, Demonstration, Application dan Integration. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
menganalisis bagaimana penerapan Merrill’s First Principles of Instruction dalam Mobile Game yang dirancang oleh Palang
Merah Indonesia dengan judul Covid Fighter. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis konten.
Penelitian ini akan memaparkan apakah Mobile game berjudul Covid Fighter telah menerapkan Merrill’s First Principles of
Instruction dengan baik untuk mengedukasi protocol Kesehatan covid pada anak sekolah dasar (SD). Analisis data yang
dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan analisis konten Formal Element oleh Fullerton (2019). Hasil penelitian yang telah
dilakukan menunjukan bahwa game Covid Fighter telah menerapkan Merrill’s First Principles of Instruction dengan baik
agar materi edukasi terserap dengan efektif oleh siswa/I.

Abstract
Technology in game media by shifting functions that were previously known as entertainment media into multi-use media,
one of which is as an educational medium. Games are currently being used by many parties to become a closer and more
comfortable educational medium for the community, one of which is the Covid Fighter game which aims to provide
education to school children so that when they do face-to-face activities at school, students are ready to face it during the
pandemic. this. Merrill's First Principles of Instruction states that in education there are aspects of instruction that must be
possessed so that students can absorb lesson information well. These aspects include Problems, Activation, Demonstration,
Applications and Integration. This study aims to analyze how the implementation of Merrill's First Principles of Instruction
in a Mobile Game designed by the Indonesian Red Cross with the title Covid Fighter. Data analysis was performed using
content analysis method. This study will explain whether the Mobile game entitled Covid Fighter has implemented Merrill's
First Principles of Instruction properly to educate the Covid Health protocols for elementary school children. Data analysis
was carried out using the Formal Elements content analysis approach by Fullerton (2019). The results of the research that
have been carried out show that the Covid Fighter game has implemented Merrill's First Principles of Instruction well so
that the material is absorbed effectively by students.
