Its incorporation in a prefabricated element for building envelopes permits to explore its bioclimatic characteristics, embracing its intrinsic characteristics, as the heat accumulation capacity, or its permeability to water. Depending on the climatic conditions, these characteristics allow for application of various passive strategies for conditioning of buildings. The most distinctive is the evaporative cooling, allowing for cooling the air of the space adjacent to the façade, by radiation of the façade element cooled by the evaporation of the water introduced to the volume of the porous concrete. This strategy will be exploited on the façade of the Wellness Hub building in Monterrey, which at the same time represents the initiative to impulse the first building certified as a Net Zero Energy Building in Mexico.
