Globalization prioritizes economic interests while other interests such as humanity, peace, togetherness, democracy and social welfare tend to be ignored. The Era of Globalization considers that if the global economy goes well, the other activities will also go well. In other words, it is important to have money, all matters and other needs can be resolved.The demands of this age change need to be addressed with dynamic behavior. Qualified individuals are individuals who are able to learn to improve their abilities in accordance with the demands of the needs and potential of society. In other words, every individual must learn lifelong. Learning is not limited to the world of classrooms or formal education. Learning is also done through mass media or learning from the environment and the surrounding environment. Conversely, if the individual cannot follow these changes, he will miss and become a loser in the midst of increasingly fierce and global competition.Globalization cannot avoid but how to improve the quality of life, change the behavior of the community which starts from the mind set of individuals in achieving improving the welfare of all citizens. One effort that can be done is through community empowerment to improve the ability of the community to be more independent both in the economic, social, cultural fields and can change people's behavior in a better direction. Keywords Society, Globalization Era, People, Social, Economic © 2018Jurnal JIPS PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DI ERA GLOBALISASI Abstrak Dunia sedang mengalami Era Glonalisasi yang ditandai Integrasi perdagangaan global yang melintasi batas batas wilayah dan georafis. Globalisasi sangat mengutamakan kepentingan ekonomi sementara kepentingan lainnya seperti kemanusiaan, perdamian, kebersamaan, demokrasi dan kesejahtaraan sosial cendrung diabaikan. Era Globalisasi memandang bahwa jika ekonomi global berjalan dengan baik maka kegiatan kegiatan yang lainnya juga berjalan dengan baik. Dengan kata lain yang penting ada uang segala urusan dan kebutuhan lainnya dapat diselesaikan. Tuntutan perubahan zaman ini perlu di siasati dengan prilaku yang dinamis. Individu yang berkualitas adalah individu yang mampu untuk belajar meningkatkan kemampuannya yang sesuai dengan tuntutan kebutuhan dan potensi masyarakat. Dengan kata lain setiap individu harus belajar sepanjang hayat. Belajar tidak terbatas dunia ruang kelas atau pendidikan formal saja. Belajar juga dilakukan melalui media massa atau belajar dari lingkungan dan alam sekitarnya. Sebaliknya jika individu tidak bisa mengikuti perubahan tersebut maka ia akan ketinggalan dan menjadi pecundang di tengah tengah persaingan yang makin ketat dan global.
