ABSTRACT
To implement the various measures of the new curriculum reform, physical education teachers should
break the barriers of traditional teaching concepts, and actively discuss and innovate teaching
strategies. Physical education, as an important part of quality education, can exercise middle school
students' physiques, promote their physical and mental health, and help them establish lifelong sports
awareness. This article takes the construction of an open physical education classroom as the research
object, analyzes the significance of implementing open physical education in middle schools based on
three dimensions, and puts forward teaching strategies from four perspectives of teaching content,
teaching methods, teaching process and teaching evaluation in combination with its teaching practice.

1. INTRODUCTION
Open teaching is a new teaching method with
knowledge teaching as the carrier and
comprehensive education as the goal. By creating
a lively, free, relaxed, and independent teaching
environment, students can actively explore
knowledge and exercise skills. Not restricted by
any objective factors, encourage them to speak
freely, boldly try and make mistakes, and think
positively, to obtain personalized development. As
a new teaching mode, open teaching embodies the
overall teaching concept of "student-oriented".
The real meaning of middle school physical
education is to enhance students' vitality and
stimulate their physical and mental potential.
Therefore, teachers should uphold this concept
and lay a solid foundation for building efficient
physical education classrooms and promoting
students' all-round development.
2. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PROMOTING OPEN
TEACHING OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN
MIDDLE SCHOOLS
The implementation of open teaching of physical
education in middle schools is the need for
students' growth and development, the need of
improving the current situation of middle school
physical education classroom teaching, and the
need of realizing the goal of new curriculum
reform.
2.1. The growth and development of students
require the implementation of open teaching
In traditional middle school physical education
teaching, teachers control everything from
teaching content, teaching form to classroom
rhythm, and students have no room for free play,
which greatly limits the individualized
development of students. Open teaching opens a
new teaching idea by creating an open teaching
situation, breaks the teacher's single cognition of
students' physical ability, truly returns the
classroom to the students, and does not interfere
with what the students do and do. Let students
become the masters of learning and the
transmitters, receivers, and feedbackers of sports
knowledge information. Only in this open teaching
situation can students boldly explore, actively
innovate, and apply the knowledge they have
learned in practice, to develop and shape a new
self through sports.
2.2. Improve the current situation of physical
education teaching in middle schools requires
the implementation of open teaching
At present, the physical education teaching in my
Vietnamese middle school emphasizes technology
and skill teaching and neglects the persistence of
sportsmanship, the development of exercise
habits, and the cultivation of lifelong sports
awareness. The tendency is so serious that when
evaluating students' physical ability, they only
