Minister of Health Regulation No. 89 of 2015, states that dental and oral health is an integral part of the whole body's health. Therefore, for this program to run optimally, the Ministry of Health has formed a Dental and Oral Health Committee which will assist the Ministry of Health in formulating a strategic plan for Dental and Oral Health actions, so that it can achieve the National target. Riskesdas in 2018 stated that the largest proportion of dental problems in Indonesia was damaged cavities or teeth, while the majority of oral health problems in Indonesians were swollen gums and/or ulcers. West Java has 28% higher dental and oral problems than the national level, which is 25.9%. Meanwhile, Garut Regency has a prevalence of dental and oral problems of 36.7%, mostly coming from school-age children. This community service was held at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Qomar located in Garut Regency. The aim was to increase the cognitive ability in maintaining oral and dental health. The method used was an interactive lecture with pre-test and post-test. The results were cognitive improvement in each question item, namely: Definition of dental and oral health (57.14%), characteristics of healthy teeth (26.78%), dental function (12.5%), benefits of brushing teeth (23.21%), how to clean teeth and mouth (30.36%), how to brush teeth properly (33.93%), duration of brushing teeth (35.71%), and causes of tooth decay (25%). The conclusion is that students' cognitive skills increased, but the number of correct answers had not reached 100%. Permenkes Menteri Nomor 89 Tahun 2015 menyatakan bahwa kesehatan gigi dan mulut adalah bagian integral dari kesehatan seluruh tubuh. Maka, agar program ini dapat berjalan secara optimal, Kemenkes membentuk Komite Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut yang akan membantu Kemenkes dalam menyusun rencana strategi upaya kesehatan gigi dan mulut, sehingga dapat mencapai target nasional. Riskesdas tahun 2018 menyatakan bahwa proporsi terbesar masalah gigi di Indonesia adalah gigi rusak/berlubang/sakit, sedangkan masalah kesehatan mulut yang mayoritas dialami penduduk Indonesia adalah gusi bengkak dan/atau keluar bisul.
