Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian deskriptif, jumlah populasi 185 sekolah pada daerah pesisir sedangkan pegunungan 222 jumlah tersebut dilakukan penarikan sampel dengan 2 tahap yaitu menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling selanjutnya purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel 57 sampel dengan rincian 45 orang daerah pesisir dan 12 orang pegunungan. Instrumen dan petunjuk tes menggunakan Tes of Gross Motor Development-3. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan dalam beberapa tahapan yaitu perhitungan berdasarkan tabel norma TGMD-3, analisis persentase dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata- rata indeks motorik kasar anak usia dini pada kedua lokasi memiliki selisih perbedaan, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan motorik kasar anak usia dini, anak daerah pesisir lebih baik dibandingkan anak usia dini daerah pegunungan. Kata Kunci: kemampuan motorik kasar; anak usia dini; daerah pegunungan; daerah pesisir Abstract This study will examine differences in children's gross motor skills in two different locations, namely in the mountainous and coastal areas. The research was a descriptive study, with a population of 185 schools in coastal areas and 222 schools. The number of samples was taken in 2 stages, namely using the cluster random sampling technique and then purposive sampling. The number of samples is 57 samples with details of 45 people from coastal areas and 12 people from the mountains. Instruments and test instructions using the Test of Gross Motor Development-3. Data analysis techniques were used in several stages, namely calculation based on the TGMD-3 norm table, percentage analysis, and drawing concluding. The results showed that the average gross motor index of early childhood at both locations had a difference, so it can be concluded that there are differences in gross motor skills of early childhood, children from coastal areas are better than early childhood from mountainous areas.
