Одеса Abstract. The article analyzes the general trends of the LNG in the world. An overview of the trends of national ship- building in Ukraine is given. Given that Ukraine does not have its own capacity to receive liquefed gas, the article explores the possibilities of building a stationary LNG terminal on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine. The basic directions of development of the world and Ukrainian market of shipbuilding are considered. Key dynamics changes in the global liquefed natural gas market have been identifed. Demand for regional liquefed natural gas markets is compared, features are analyzed, zonal demand and key players are allocated, and development prospects are put forward. It describes the main problems of the industry, identifes the need for state support for the industry, and refects possible development prospects and potential market niches. An assessment of Ukraine’s prospective need for ships and marine equipment is given. The priorities of national and regional programs for achieving environmental and transport security are identifed. The directions and the most important tasks of specialization in the system of competitive positioning of transport of individual countries and shipping companies are taken into account. Three main directions of shipbuild- ing development in the long term are presented: ecological safety, safety of human life and economic efciency. In the analysis of the criteria for development of the national shipbuilding of Ukraine, the article takes into account the limitations in the development of the industry, as well as the key prerequisite for its development. The article provides a forecast of the need for an LNG feet, taking into account the global market conditions and the growth of energy demand. The main limitations of efective positioning of national shipbuilding in the global maritime trade market are considered. The article substantiates that the achievement of Ukraine’s energy independence requires the implementa- tion of a strategy to build an LNG terminal and a feet to serve it. The article summarizes the existing international experience in this area and assesses the prospects for the development of LNG ships and shore LNG terminals. The substantiation of the importance of LNG terminal construction and specialized feet for Ukraine is given. It is stated that this is a real opportunity to create an energy-independent country and a real diversifcation of energy supplies. Анотація. У статті аналізуються загальні тенденції розвитку флоту перевезення зрідженого природного газу (ЗПГ) у світі. Дано огляд тенденцій розвитку національного суднобудування України. З огляду на те, що Україна не володіє власними потужностями з прийому зрідженого газу, в статті вивчені можливості будівництва стаціонарного ЗПГ-терміналу на чорноморському узбережжі України. Розглянуто основні напрями розвитку світового та українського ринку суднобудування. Визначено ключові зміни динаміки на глобальному ринку зрідженого природного газу. Порівнюється попит на регіональних ринках зрідженого природного газу, аналізуються особливості, виділяється зональний попит і ключові гравці, висуваються перспективи розвитку. Подана характеристика основних проблем галузі, визначено необхідність державної підтримки галузі, а також відображені можливі перспективи розвитку і потенційні ринкові ніші. Дана оцінка перспективної потреби України в судах і морської техніки. Визначаються пріоритети національних і регіональних програм досягнення екологічної та транспортної безпеки.
