However, most adequate competences should be selected according to specific knowledge areas. An analysis shoule be carried out ex ante on objectives, how they can be reached and how they can be measured ex post. This paper, presents a practical approach focusing on three general competences: creativity, team work and effective communication. The method which has been utilized is Lego Serious Play®, an actual and well- recognised educational tool. A practical session was designed to test it and solve certain challenges it. Later, the students were asked to evaluate its specific application. From the results we conclude that, with an accurate focus, those three general competences can be worked with Lego Serious Play®. However, it should be convenient to use other tools as well in order to conserve its learning impact. Keywords: general competences, effective communication, team work, creativity.
