A multi-stage sampling method was used to collect primary data from 120 dairy farmers from Giwa, Kachia and Birnin Gwari. The data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics like frequency counts and percentages . The Wilcoxon-signed-rank test statistic was used to assess the impact of CADP on productivity and income of the respondents. The result showed that the average age of the respondents was 42 years, with a mean of 28 years’ of experience in dairy production. The average household size of the respondents was nine persons. A positive and significantrelationship exists between the participation in CADP programm and farmers income. The study recommends continual investment in CADP to enhance farmer’s productivity and income Keywords: Diary,income, participation in CADP, productivity, Introduction The Nigerian rural sector, with an abundance of human and natural resources, accommodates 49.7% of the nation's population (World Bank, 2011). However, Nigerian rural communities are lacking in infrastructural facilities such as roads, potable water supply and sanitation, energy communication, health and education facilities. It is estimated that 85% of the extremely poor in Nigeria currently lives in rural areas. Nevertheless, the rural sector is predominantly agriculture-based (including livestock, forestry and fisheries). It employs about 75% of the labour force and contributes about 21.1% of the country’s GDP ( Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), 2019 ). The Commercial Agriculture Development Project (CADP) is a World Bank-supported project which began in the year 2010 and was aimed at improving agricultural production in Nigeria by supporting commercial agriculture production, processing and marketing outputs amongst small and medium scale commercial farmers and agro-processors. In Nigeria, there are five (5) participating states, Cross River, Enugu, Lagos, Kaduna and Kano state. The project has two major components: agricultural production and commercialization. The project aimed at complementing the country's food security 12
