Also it was added the distribution in the world. The Material examined is deposited in Plant Protection Department of the Gaziosmanpasa University, Tokat, Turkey. Larvae of some genera of this family are predators on aphids. Larvae of other genera are phytophagous, saprophagous, carpophagous, and microphagous. Adults are found 'on flowers especially Umbelliferae species, also the adults of this family are one of the most important pollinators beside the bees (Sirmc & Glumac, 1987). The Syrphidae comprises about 5000 species in the world, 1600 species in the Palaearctic region. About 730 species have been mentioned from Mediterranean area (Weyer & Dils, 1999). Only limited knowledge is available especially on Syrphidae in Turkey (OzgOr, 1982, 1986a, 1986b, 1987; Alaoglu & Ozbek, 1987; Hayat & Alaoglu 1990a, 1990b; Pehlivan & Akbulut, 1990; Sanbiyik & Aktas, 1996, Hurkmans & Hayat 1997; Sanbiytk & Hasbenli, 1997; Sanbiyik 2001).
