B. 2346.Sokoto Accepted: June 21, 2023 Abstract: The paper examined the variation of students’level patronage of the physical library of Kebbi State University of Science Technology,Aliero, over the year, 2015-2020. The paper also forecasts future students’ patronage of the library.Two research questions guided the study. It is necessary to remark that several models of time series have been developed to apply model time series data. Notable among these models are the simple moving average, exponential smoothing and trend projection (using least squares). However, exponential smoothing has proven through the years to be very useful in many forecasting situations. Against the above background, the exponential smoothing and trend projection methodology was therefore applied to students’ library historical data (2015-2020). This analysis was carried out using Gretl Time Series Software.The findings had shown that, a total of 512302 of patronage were recorded under the period of spanning from 2015-2020. An Average of 7115.3 individuals patronized the library monthly from January 2015 to December,2020. The students' patronage could be as low as 0 from April 2020 to August, 2020 that is during the Corona Virus in 2019. The estimation of time series data using OLS (Ordinary least square) out of three components listed in the seasonal effect tend to be significant at a 95% level. The forecast at the variable shows a 95% confidence interval reveal the forecast value for 2020. Based on the findings, recommendations were made. Keywords: Time Series Analysis, Students Patronage, Library, KSUSTA Introduction University isan important agent in the development of human resources of any nation.The major role of a University in national development is achieved through their programmes of teaching, learning and research.Aguolu (1993) defined the function of Universities inter alia: the conservation of Knowledge, Pursuit, promotion and dissemination of knowledge through teaching, advancement of knowledge through research, pure and applied development of orientation, and provision of intellectual leadership. According to AliuandEmese (2011),the university library is at the forefront of the actualization of these functions through effective, timely and relevant information provided to serve the varied information needs of the community users. The KebbiState University of Science and Technology Library has physical and e-library that provide access to students and unfettered access to online e- journals, e-books, database internet services etc. that have been subscribed by the Library Management to meet the information need of patrons.It is usually said that, the university is rich in terms of its quality of knowledge delivery and library resources; in other words, the quality of graduate produced from any university is a reflection of the quality of its library resources. These library resources and services must be well processed, timely and current; easily made accessible of her users.Hence,the KSUSTA library
