The Affect of Using Cartoons at Social Sciences Teaching to the Academic
Success of Students

ABSTRACT
This reach was done to examine the affects of cartoons in primary school 5th grade students’
success at social sciences teaching. The research was done in Cumhuriyet Primary School, in Bor,
in Niğde in the research tests and control groups were used. At the end of research, the level of the
test group in which cartoons were used, was higher than the test group in which cartoons were’nt
used. According to this result in social sciences teaching using cartoons is very important in terms
of increasing students’ success.
