Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pilihan ganda sebanyak 10 butir soal. Instrumen telah dilakukan uji validitas dengan hasil validasi instrumen yang diperoleh sebesar 93,3%. Responden penelitian ada 131 siswa kelas XI IPA di MAN 1 Kota Gorontalo. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan cara observasi, pemberian tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan konsep siswa pada indikator menjelaskan konsep mol memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 47% dengan kategori kurang, pada indikator menghitung massa atom relatif (Ar) dan massa molekul relatif (Mr) memperoleh nilai rata-rata persentase sebesar 87% dengan kategori Baik, pada indikator Mengkonversi jumlah mol dengan jumlah partikel, massa dan volume zat memperoleh nilai rata- rata persentase sebesar 79% dengan kategori baik, dan untuk indikator memprediksi rumus empiris molekul dan air kristal serta kadar zat dalam senyawa memperoleh persentase sebesar 44% dengan kategori kurang Kata kunci: Penguasaan konsep; Konsep mol Abstract This study aims to analyze the mastery of the concepts of class XI science students in solving chemistry problems on the mole concept material at MAN 1 Gorontalo City. The approach used in this research is qualitative with descriptive research type. The instrument used in this research is multiple choice as many as 10 items. The instrument has been tested for validity with the results of instrument validation obtained by 93.3%. The research respondents were 131 students of class XI science at MAN 1 Gorontalo City. Data collection was obtained by means of observation, giving tests and documentation. The results showed that students' mastery of concepts on the indicator explaining the mole concept obtained a percentage value of 47% in the less category, on the indicator calculating relative atomic mass (Ar) and relative molecular mass (Mr) obtained an average percentage value of 87% in the Good category. , on the indicator Converting the number of moles to the number of particles, mass and volume of the substance obtained an average percentage value of 79% in the good category, and for the indicator predicting the empirical formula of the molecule and crystal water as well as the content of substances in the compound obtained a percentage of 44% with the less category.
