The focus of this research is important to analyze because to understand the meaning of the verses of the Qur ’an requires a good interpretation, and the results of a good interpretation require a good method. In addition, in order to bring the Qur’an to life, its verses must be interpreted so that it is easy for Muslims to understand and practice, so with this, the goal of the revelation of the Qur'an was achieved. This research is qualitative research through a literature study. The stages of the research were carried out by collecting library sources, both primary and secondary. The research data is taken from the work of Ath-Thabari and another relevant research. This research finds that Ath-Thabari’s interpretation is included in the interpretation of bil ma'tsur because most of the verses refer to the hadiths of the Prophet and atsar which are based on Companions and tabiin. The method of tahlili (analysis) is the main method used by Ath-Thabari in his interpretation, namely interpreting the Qur’an by explaining its verses from all the aspects contained therein in detail . Keywords: Interpretation Method, Al-Qur’an Interpretation, Tafsir Ath- Thabari Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metode dan corak penafsiran Ath- Thabari dalam Kitab Tafsir Ath-Thabari. Fokus penelitian ini penting untuk dianalisis karena untuk memahami makna ayat-ayat al-Qur’an diperlukan penafsiran yang baik, dan hasil penafsiran yang baik memerlukan metode yang baik pula. Selain itu, untuk menghidupkan al-Qur’an, ayat-ayatnya harus ditafsirkan agar mudah dipahami dan diamalkan oleh umat Islam, sehingga dengan demikian tujuan diturunkannya al-Qur’an tercapai. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif melalui studi literatur. Tahapan penelitian dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan sumber pustaka, baik primer maupun sekunder. Data penelitian diambil dari karya Ath-Thabari dan penelitian lain yang relevan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penafsiran Ath-Thabari termasuk dalam penafsiran bil ma'tsur karena sebagian besar ayatnya mengacu pada hadis Nabi dan atsar yang disandarkan pada para sahabat dan tabiin.
