Bu doğrultuda, iktidarlarını sürekli kılmak ve kontrolü tamamen ellerine almak adına, örneğin; 1954 seçimlerinde başarısız oldukları Kırşehir’i ilçe haline getirmek gibi uygulamalarda bulunmuşlardır. Aynı Kırşehir’i 1957 seçimleri öncesi, kamuoyunda oluşan yaygın kanaate göre, yine oy kaygısı ile tekrar il haline getiren DP iktidarının bu kararı, Kırşehir’de bayram havası estirmiş ve coşkulu şenliklerle kutlanmıştır. Bu makalede; TBMM Zabıt Cerideleri, dönemin gazeteleri, hatıratlar ve diğer telif ve tetkik eserler kullanılarak, giriş kısmında DP’nin kuruluş ve iktidara geçiş süreci, sonrasında Kırşehir’in 1954’te ilçe ve daha sonra 1957 yılında tekrar il haline getirilmesi ele alınmış ve son kısımda ise bu konuda kaleme alınmış yazılardan farklı olarak Kırşehir’in il haline getirilmesi kutlamaları üzerinde durulmuştur. Abstract It is observed that the Democratic Party, which was established in 1946 and came to power in 1950, started to harden its policies following the 1954 elections, despite the reputation and general acceptance it gained in the public between 1950-1954. In order to keep their power permanent and take complete control, for example; They implemented policies such as turning Kırşehir into a district, which they failed in the 1954 elections. The DP government, according to the common belief in public opinion, turned Kırşehir into a province of voting anxiety before the 1957 elections, his decision has a festive atmosphere in Kırşehir and is celebrated with enthusiastic festivities. In this article, the Turkish Grand National Officer Cerrays, newspapers of the period, memoirs and other copyrights and investigative works were used, In the introduction part, the transition process of the DP to the establishment and power has been covered, then, Kırşehir was transformed into a district in 1954 and then to become a province again in 1957 and In the last part, unlike the articles written on this subject, the celebration of making Kırşehir become a province is emphasized.
