Gautam © Springer Science+Business Media New York 2014 Abstract In this paper a novel antenna with frequency notch characteristic has been pre- sented. The antenna consists of a C-shaped microstrip antenna with two symmetrical notches and a rectangular parasitic patch. The antenna has tunable property due to integrated pin diode. When pin diode is OFF the antenna works like an ultra wide band antenna from 5 to 8 GHz. But when diode is ON the antenna has two bands separated by a small band-frequency notch. The antenna has very high cross polarization attenuation. The whole antenna is sim- ulated on MoM based full wave electromagnetic simulator IE3D and fabricated. The results are in close resemblance. These services need high bandwidth and need to be separated from each other to avoid interference among G. P.
