ABSTRACT I ndia’s economic growth depends on tourism, which boosts revenue from exports and builds towns with a variety of commercial areas. A vision for Developed India 2047 has been created by the Indian government to promote tourism and make India the most sought-after tourist destination for foreigners.Vision India 2047 intends to increase tourism numbers and job possibilities. The government must promote India’s diversity and rich history to reclaim its prominence as a tourist destination. Although a vital instrument for local development, tourism can sometimes have a harmful impact on the environment. A significant commercial activity that encourages growth in employment, revenue, and development is tourism. The expectations for the tourism sector are a USD 250 billion Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contribution by 2030, 137 million jobs, and 56 million foreign visitors. Long-term goals include reviving Indian tourism and setting a USD 1 trillion industry goal for 2047.India intends to embrace sustainable tourism in order to capitalize on its rich cultural richness and breathtaking sites, which annually attract millions of tourists.With creative efforts, opportunities for employment and growth, and the satisfaction of foreign tourists with the services, the expansion of the tourism sector would support India’s economy and various aspects. Emerging economies and developing nations have a lot of potential thanks to tourism. It improves the local economy, boosts job growth, aids in the development of local infrastructure, and can lessen poverty and inequality while preserving the environment and cultural traditions. In this background, this research article mainly concentrates on about the issues and constraints facing the current tourism sector and how, by 2047, bolstering this industry will be crucial to India’s growth.
