Abstract Across the world, women's empowerment is the most debated topic in academia as well as in society. According to Article 14 of the Constitution of India, women are given the same rights as men. At the same time, it cannot be entirely turned down by the fact that women are underdeveloped and unprivileged. Still, the status of women is not definitively equated with that of men in many employment sectors. Women have entered almost all fields, but in some sectors, especially defense, their role is nominal. Though they joined the armed forces, their role is limited to medical, legal, and academic. This paper discusses the pros and cons of female participation in the risky armed forces, and it also throws light on the reasons for the little participation of women in the armed forces.
