Abstract One part of the cuneiform material of Doctor Georges Goreux who has bequeathed his collection to Belgium is kept in the Royal Museums of Art and History, Brussels. Among these objects, the present text (O.4981, Figures 1 and 2) represents a promissory note for barley issued at Bīt-Kurbannu and dated to the reign of Darius I.
