ABSTRACT
In the last twenty years, India's service sectors, including hospitality, finance, and
business services, have experienced significant growth financially and in terms of
employment opportunities. The IT industry, particularly through business process
outsourcing (BPO) and IT services, has emerged as a major contributor to the country's
GDP. This expansion has not only boosted economic output but also created numerous job
opportunities, leading to high levels of job satisfaction within the sector. This study aims to
investigate the influence of HRM practices on organizational culture and organizational
commitment within the IT industry. Through a combination of literature review and primary
data collection via questionnaires from IT employees using purposive sampling, the study
examines the relationship between HRM practices (specifically Performance Appraisal and
Career Planning and Development), organizational culture and organizational
commitment. The findings shows that all HRM practices have significant impact on
Organizational culture and commitment.
