ANALISIS FASE KELAHIRAN DAN FASE BAYI Reni Supitno*1, Dadan Suryana, M. Pd.*2 1 Universitas Negeri Padang Article Info ABSTRACT Article history: Submitted Jun xx, 201x Accepted Jul xx, 201x Published Aug xx, 201x Birth is not the beginning of life, but rather an interruption in the pattern of development that begins at conception. The time when an individual experiences a transition from the internal environment to the external environment. The time when transitions are made and adjustments are needed is called infancy. Labor is the correct term for the process of giving birth. Primarily because of the size of the fetus' head, birth is hard work for both mother and baby. From an evolutionary perspective, the advantages of an enlarged head that could contain a brain capable of advanced thinking outweighed the difficulty of passing through the birth canal. The birthing process takes place in three stages. The first stage, uterine contractions are 15-20 minutes at the beginning and last for one minute. Followed by the opening of the cervix. At the end of this first stage the cervix usually opens up to 4 inches, so that the baby can move towards the birth canal. For women who are pregnant for the first time, this stage lasts an average of 12-24 hours and is the longest stage of the three other stages. Keywords: Birth baby .
