ABSTRACT
Aircraft need to be constantly maintained, repaired, and upgraded to ensure smooth
operations and sustain the pavements in an adequate condition. Early detection of
failures or faults and frequent maintenance in an aircraft system will prevent aircraft
failures and ensure safety. Hence, there is a need to integrate advance technology system
into the maintenance of aircrafts. This article thereby provides and develops an expert
system that predicts failures, causes of failures, and provide remedies for failures in
aircrafts. In the study, probability tree was used to predict faults in selected aircrafts
(Boeing Aircraft (Year: 2016), and Airbus (year: 2014) Model (BX2V3)) and diagnosed
with the developed expert system, modelled with C++ programming Language to detect
aircraft faults and provide remedies for various diagnosed faults.
