1 HUKUM ADALAH DISIPLIN ILMU SUI GENERIS : KAJIAN PERSPEKTIF FILSAFAT ILMU Mohammad Jamin Fakultas Hukum Universitas Sebelas Maret Email : jamin_mh@yahoo.com ABSTRACT Legal science is a science that has a material object of the norm, in the perspective of philosophy of science, yet the science of law (which is more accurately called jurisprudence) is a discipline that sui generis is the science of law is the science of its own kind, because it has a distinctive character that is reflected in the nature normative. In the science of law sui generis character is used to show that in the science of law should never be forgotten or overruled its normative character, ie on the one hand the science of law has an analytical empirical nature, but on the other hand as a practical science normative. PENDAHULUAN Polemik apakah hukum dapat disebut sebagai ilmu masih menjadi diskursus berkepanjangan di kalangan akademisi. Hingga kini tidak ada titik temu diantara para ahli mengenai hal tersebut. Pada dasarnya terdapat polarisasi pendapat dikalangan ahli filsafat, hasilnya tetap dua pendapat 1 .
