S1 Upconverted photosensitization of Tb visible emission by NIR Yb excitation in discrete supramolecular heteropolynuclear complexes Nabila Souri, Pingping Tian, Carlos Platas-Iglesias, Ka-Leung Wong, Aline Nonat and Loïc J. Charbonnière Supplementary material Materials and Methods. Column chromatography and flash column chromatography were performed with silica (0.00630.200 mm, MachereyNagel) or silica gel (4063) µm, MachereyNagel). Solvents were used as purchased. 1 H, 13 C and 31 P NMR spectra were recorded at room temperature on Bruker Avance 300 and Avance 400 spectrometers operating resp. at 300 and 400 MHz for 1 H. Chemical shifts are reported in ppm and were referenced internally to the residual protiated solvents. 1 The abbreviations used to described the multiplicity of the NMR signals are: s (singlet), d (doublet), dd (doublet of doublet), t (triplet), q (quadruplet) and m (multiplet). IR spectra were recorded on a Perkin Elmer Spectrum One Spectrophotometer as solid samples and only the most significant absorption bands are given in cm 1 . Elemental analysis were performed by the service commun d'analyse of the University of Strasbourg. For deuterated compounds, the H content provided were obtained as %H + 0.5%D.
