PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TPS TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA Arini Alhaq 1 , Rini Asnawati 2 , Sugeng Sutiarso 2 arini.alhaq@rocketmail.com 1 Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika 2 Dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika ABSTRAK This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of cooperative learning model of TPS type towards students’ mathematical communication skills. The population of this research was regular students of grade 9 th of SMPN 1 Abung Selatan in academic year of 2013/2014. The samples of this research were students of IX-D and IX-F class that were determined by purposive sampling technique. The design of this research was post-test only control group design. Based on the result of this research, it was obtained that the students’ mathematical communication skills by cooperative learning model of TPS type was lower than conventional learning. Thus, it could be concluded that the cooperative learning model of TPS type has no positive affect towards the students’ mathematical communication skills. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX reguler SMPN 1 Abung Selatan tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX D dan IX F yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control group design. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS lebih rendah daripada model pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS tidak berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.
