Thirteen out of 804 miRNAs were differentially expressed with statistical significance in a validation series of 65 IBC compared to 96 non IBC. Among the 13 miRNAs, a 5-miRNA signature was shown to be highly predictive of IBC. Moreover, this signature is an independent predictor of poor survival in non IBC.
