CHAPTER 3 Conflict-Induced Migration and Poverty Dare Isaac Akindoyin and Chukwuebuka Chukwuemeka Akuche Introduction Virtually all academic fields have their own respective understanding to conflict, migration and poverty nexus. For instance, in poverty and conflict studies, Economist focuses on decision-making and game theory, while psychologists study how interpersonal conflict occurs, the focus of sociologists is on conflict of status and class, as well as the focus of political science on both international and domestic conflict. Since the evolution of mankind, migration has been a common phase in human history. However, migration as a result of domestic or international conflict between states is quite different from voluntary migration. As D. I.
