The non-parametric statistical tool of Mann-Kendall (M-K) and Sen’s slope trend analysis and Rainfall Anomaly Index (RAI) was employed to assess the trend in the climatic variables and to assess the dry and wet years in the rainfall pattern in the study area. The result of the M-K trend analysis has shown a significantly increase trend in the annual max. temperature with Z value 2.88 showing an increase of .05ÚC/ yr. (p<0.01). the season of spring and winter also shows an increase in the max. temperature with Z value 3.25 (p<0.01) and 4.35 (p<0.001) respectively. The rainfall trend results reveal a negative trend in the annual rainfall with Z value -0.68 showing a decline of -0.34mm/yr.
