PROCEEDING OF SHEPO 2020 (International Conference On Social Sciences & Humanity, Economics, And Politics) 128 THE EFL STUDENTS’ PERCEPTIONS OF USING QUIZIZZ IN DOING ONLINE ENGLISH TEST AT HIGH SCHOOL Nurul Aulia Jannah Islamic University Of Kalimantan nurulaulia045@gmail.com Supiani Islamic University Of Kalimantan Iwan Perdana Islamic University Of Kalimantan ABSTRACT This research purpose was to find out the EFL students’ perceptions in doing online English test in Quizizz. A 12- statement questionnaire was administered to 212 students who had complete online test in Quizizz, there were six classes from grade 11 and 12 in MAN 3 Banjarmasin. The students responded to each statement by using Likert scale. The results reveal a high agreement of students on statement number 6 gained the highest mean rank 4,29 by obtaining the mean value most students agree that the correct and incorrect results and ranking after doing test in Quizizz motivate them to study harder. This is evidenced by obtaining result 54,7% students answered strongly agree and 25,5% answered agree. They found that doing test in Quizizz was entertaining because the facilities were such a game application and students were unlikely feel bored. Therefor, most students had agreement to the questionnaire or students mostly had positive perception of doing online English test in Quizizz. Keyword: online English test, online assessment, Quizizz. 1. INTRODUCTION The advent technology has increased nowadays and the use of it enable educators to do online assessment. The appearance of technologies such as, computers, smart phone and many more is help teachers access internet to do online assessment. There is e-platforms namely LMS stands for Learning Management System providing an online learning. LMS can help teacher by learning outside classroom, in LMS teacher can share learning material, quiz, homework and so on (Dias 2013). In recent years learning management system is widely used among teachers and lectures. On LMS there are so much features availabe, Dabbagh & Bannan-Ritland (2005) stated the most commom features of an LMS including: content creation, communication, assessment, and administration. The famous LMS applications are: Moodle, EdModo, Quizizz and more. In this study the researcher chose Quizizz, which that application was conducted by teachers in school espicially in MAN 3 Banjarmasin. In this research, the researcher was interested to investigate the EFL students perception of using Quizizz in doing online English test. Recognizing students’ perception is necesarry because it plays an important role for teacher or lecturer to evaluate after knowing students perception. As stated by Chen (2003), students perception is crucial for evaluating the teaching affectiveness. Since teacher already know students perception, teacher can evaluate their teaching, reorganize how teacher teach in class, which students more liked and not liked in deliver material. Therefor, students perception is very important for teacher and lecturer. Student's perception is very important not only for assessment but also for teaching development goal. And also there is rare reseacher about highschool students’ perception of online assessment, mostly online assessment is conducting in higher education. Therefore, the aim of this research is to find out EFL students’ perception of using Quizizz in doing online English test. 2. METHOD Research Design and Setting The design of this study is classified as a survey research. In this case, researcher wants to know the phenomenon that occurs outside of the field using a survey to analyze the data. The aim of a survey research is to collect data representative of population (James 2001). This research was conducted at MAN 3 BANJARMASIN. This school is located at Jl. Batu Benawa Raya No.32, Tlk. Dalam, Kec. Banjarmasin Tengah, Kota Banjarmasin, Kalimantan Selatan Population and Sample This study involved the students of MAN 3 Banjarmasin grade 11 and 12, they were selected randomly. Between male and female students, female students are more dominant. The participants of this questionnaire are students who only had experience online assessment in Quizizz. The participants were 212 students, suitable number for survey research. Instrument For collecting the data, the researcher uses questionnaire as the instrument. In response to each statement, the following scoring for Likert scale was used: strongly agree (5), agree (4), neutral (3), disagree (2), and strongly disagree (1). The questionnaires were delivered online by Google Form. Data Analysis In this study, data were collected using questionnaire which close ended questions questionnaire.
