One of which is the Qur'an, hermeneutics emphasizes the understanding of historical, linguistic, and cultural contexts in the interpretation process. It also involves tracing the background of writing Qur'anic verses, the social and political context at the time of writing, as well as the use of Arabic words and the literary structure used. The Hermeneutics of the Qur'an involves the use of various methods of interpretation, such as tafsir bil ma'thur, tafsir bil ra'y, and tafsir bil 'ilmi. Apart from the historical principle of hermeneutics itself, there are similarities between the famous methods of interpretation in classical Islam and some models of hermeneutic methods. Hermeneutic methods in biblical interpretation include historical-critical (moral), literal, allegoric, and experimental (anagogic). Hermeneutics is only one method of interpreting the Qur'an, which is certainly inseparable from the rules of interpretation. Hermeneutics as an attempt to interpret the Qur'an, then relate it to problems that occur today, without omitting the main rules of Qur'anic interpretation.
