Email: younes.boujoudar@usmba.ac.ma Summary Standalone Power Systems (SPS), formerly known as Micro Power Systems, is an off-grid electricity system for locations that are not fitted with an electricity genera- tion. Typical SPS include one or more renewable electricity sources, energy storage, and regulation. In this paper, supervision of hybrid Photovoltaic system and battery storage is presented. The power balance of the hybrid system is made on an intelli- gent supervisor based on Artificial Neural Network Controller (ANNC). The main purpose of this paper is the control of DC/DC Bidirectional Converter (DBC), which connect the Li-ion battery with the DC_Bus of Stand-alone Power Systems (SPS). Based on the use of artificial neural network controller, which are effective tools for highly nonlinear system. The proposed technique does not require a pre-defined model of power DBC only depend on power and voltage system data. Simulation for stand-alone systems performed at Matlab Simulink. The comparison with PID controller for the result obtained of DC_Bus voltage, and power demanded, demon- strate the robustness, and satisfactory performance of the proposed control strategy. KEYWORDS ANNC, battery, DC_Bus, energy, management, stand-alone 1 | INTRODUCTION Stand-alone Power systems are small electricity systems, which are not connected to a grid electricity distribution sys- tem and produce electricity to individual clients, homes or small productive. Due to the important decrease in prices for the used components. The SPS are becoming more and more common and are the best solution in terms of costs as the extension of the national network for a number of villages as they are situated far away from the national grid in diffi- cult terrain or on islands. The SPS generally include one or more source of electricity production like (solar panel, wind turbine, Diesel, etc.), energy storage. 1 They associate together with a voltage DC_Bus so that DC home appliances can receive power directly Abbreviations: SPS, Standalone Power Systems; ANN, Artificial Neural Network; ANNC, Artificial Neural Network Controller; DBC, DC/DC Bidirectional Converter; PV, Photovoltaic; CCM, Continuous Conduction Mode.
