APPRAISING THE POTENTIAL OF PRE AND PILOT TESTING DURING SURVEY BASED RESEARCH: A CASE STUDY IN INDIAN BANKING SECTOR Dinesh Seth 1 , Meenu Gupta 2 and Bikram Jit Singh 3 1 Research Scholar, MMIM, Mullana, Ambala, India. 2 Assistant Professor, MMIM, Mullana, India 3 Professor, MMEC, Mullana, India Abstract This paper envisages the capabilities of Pre-Testing and Pilot-Testing of Questionnaires designed to conduct survey based studies. Related literature is surveyed to access the status and significance of questionnaire-testing, before carrying out regular survey based researches. It also highlights the scarcity of appropriate procedure to carry out effective testing and tends to fill this gap by performing step-wise Pre and Pilot Testing of a Questionnaire, designed to access the impact of artificial intelligence in Indian banking sector. It is a naval study skimming the vitality of both the testings, after accomplishing the proposed methodology and without ignoring the existing constraints of Indian private banking environments. Findings of this study have tremendous application in any kind of survey based study related to scientific, social and economic scenarios. From last couple of decades, Questionnaires have erupted as well structured and systematic way to gather exact voice of masses and its efficiency can be enhanced by designing and redesigning it through relevant pre and pilot testing. Keywords: Multivariate Analysis, Kappa Value, Content validity Index, Cluster Analysis, Cronbach Alpha 1. Introduction Survey research is defined as "the collection of information from a sample of individuals through their responses to questions" (Check & Schutt, 2012, p. 160). It has been regarded that these methods of research enable the researchers to enable in collecting different data set, support in using various participants and utilise the methods and instrumentation. It has been stated that the survey method can be made using the questionnaire by assigning different numerical value. It is often mentioned that the survey method focuses in analysing and apprehending the human behaviour and hence it is widely applying in the social and other areas of research. (Singleton & Straits, 2009). The data which are collated from the respondents are highly useful so as to make meaningful interpretation on the subject area, many researchers has used this method for decades and it can range from few specific questions to larger questions which covers closed ended and open ended which will relate the overall behaviour, taste, preference of the respondents who provides the data and information. Some of the common examples of lesser-known survey tend to include in sales and marketing domain, understanding the overall consumer preferences, public polls and usability of products etc. The survey method has included large population, the major objective of the researchers is to enable in gathering and analysing the demographic related
