Puri Jagannadh is a director who portrays Indian society in distinct manner. His way of directing a film and conveying a message in a film is different from other contemporary directors. However, Puri is a specialist to project sociological issues with commercial scenes and dialogues, which can give good profits for his films. This paper will try to prove about modern Indian reality with the special reference of Businessman movie. Businessman is a story of an angry young man called Surya, this movie is typical story included with various satires and sociological issues, such as capitalism, poverty, corruption, crime, mafia, violence, regional issues and political instabilities in India. The dialogues in the movie delivered with bolder intensity, but the intension behind the words is to display the actual condition of modern India. Comparing with other Indian movie collection of various directors, this movie is completely different from the beginning to the ending, the movie crew has been used different technical elements to give a new posture to deliver a message to the audience. Anyway, the main aim of this paper to bring out the contemporary social issues in Businessman movie, additionally the researcher also focuses to bring out the style and techniques that has been in this movie. Objective: The main objective of this paper is to prove the existence of social issues in present-day India, with the special reference and analysis on Businessman movie which was directed by Puri Jagannadh. Additionally, various graphs and theoretical analytical content has been included to strengthen the paper‟s primary objective. Findings: After the critical analysis of Businessman movie, this researcher successfully proved the presence of contemporary social issues in India. The researcher also found that many statistics sources and theories about various problems in India are accurate to the story and analysis of this movie respectively. INTRODUCTION The Indian Society is different as well as complex from ancient times, at the same time is floating the Indian society had been marked with the diversity of different people who have different cultures, traditions, and origins which is opposite in the terms of the ancient Indian society. After the decolonization from Britain, India faced many social issues that tried to make the country unstable. Compared to the social problems of India from the beginning, it has now improved with a myriad of issues such as poverty, corruption, crime, mafia, terrorism, violence, political instability, regional issues and communalism The films with social issues were well received by Indian audiences and critics. Mostly, filmmakers have mildly touched on those social issues but have faced commercial failure. But only a few filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Ram Gopal Verma, Puri Jagannadh, Milan Ludhria, Chandra Parod, created tasteful content and commercial elements such as gang wars, action sequences, bold dialogues and trendy settings in their films to attract viewers. Before diving into the main concept, it is important to know about Telugu Film Industry also known as Tollywood where the Businessman movie belongs to. Many people think that Bollywood (Hindi) only industry sustaining in India. But along with Bollywood, there are many film industries which produce regional films in different languages of different states in India like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali and Malayalam Film Industries respectively.
