Communities in the Danube Region CULTURAL COMMUNITIES AND MINORITIES IN THE DANUBE REGION As one of the European macro-regions, the Danube Region is characterised by an extraordinary cultural diversity. This volume is dedicated to the topic of communities in the Danube Region, which must not be understood in an exclusive but overlapping and blurring way linked by cultural or other commonalities. Seit 2014 werden im Rahmen der Danube School-Reihe Seminare und Konferenzen in Zusammenarbeit mit Universitäten im oberen, mittleren und unteren Donauraum durchge- führt. Im Jahr 2020/2021 lag der Schwerpunkt der Reihe auf der Auseinandersetzung mit verschiedenen Kulturgemeinschaften und ihren Beziehungen in Südosteuropa. Wegen der Corona-Pandemie fanden die drei Veranstaltungen in Ruse (Bulgarien), Novi Sad (Serbien) und Ulm/Neu-Ulm (Deutschland) etwas eingeschränkt und verzögert, aber dennoch in Präsenz statt. Der vorliegende Band enthält Beiträge von Teilnehmer_innen und Referent_innen, die sich in diesem Kontext aus wissenschaftlicher und praktischer Sicht mit Themen wie kulturelle Gemeinschaf- ten, Minderheiten, Communities, Sprachen etc. auseinandersetzen. Diese Beiträge wurden ermöglicht durch die Förderung der Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien (BKM) für das Projekt Danube Schools 2020/21 und durch die Zuwendung der Baden-Württemberg Stiftung für das Projekt Truckers along the Danube Route. Since 2014, the Danube School series has organised seminars and conferences in cooperation with universities in the Upper, Middle and Lower Danube Region. In 2020/2021, the focus of the series was on the examination of different cultural communities and their relations in South Eastern Europe. Due to the Corona pandemic, the three events took place in Ruse (Bulgaria), Novi Sad (Serbia) and Ulm/Neu-Ulm (Germany), somewhat limited and delayed but still in attendance. The present volume contains contributions from participants and speakers who dealt with topics such as cultural communities, minorities, communities, languages, etc. from a scientific and practical perspective. The contributions were made possible by the support of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) for the project Danube Schools 2020/21 and the grant of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation for the project Truckers along the Danube Route.
