To trim down the weight of trolley chassis along with strength is one of the objectives of work. The main consideration in chassis design is to have adequate bending stiffness for better handling characteristics. The maximum stress, maximum equilateral stress and deflection are the important criteria for design of the chassis. The present works shown the tractor trolley chassis modelled by considering two different sections namely C & I. The methodology developed for the selection of optimum parameters of C section using orthogonal array method. The effects of parameters such as web thickness, upper flange thickness & lower flange thickness are analyzed using numerical model. The maximum deflection and stress are determined by performing stress analysis for different sections. The experimental and computed results are shown acceptance of the nature of maximum deflection. © 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. Introduction The most significant issue in the tractor manufacturing industries is design of vehicles with more payload. Using higher strength steels than the conventional ones are possible with corresponding increase in payload capacity. * Corresponding author. Tel. : +917722039112.
