Vidicki 2 University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Sociology Novi Sad (Serbia) CHANGES IN THE ATTITUDE OF VILLAGE YOUTH TOWARDS ENTERING MARRIAGE AND STARTING A FAMILY – EXAMPLE OF THE VILLAGE OF KAĆ 3 Abstract: The primary aim of this paper is to analyze the changes in attitudes of young people in rural areas towards marriage and the potentials for establishing a family. Potentially limiting material and non-material factors which may influence their decisions to (not) marry and (not) start a family are taken into account. Attitudes towards marriage were interpreted through elements of data from a longitudinal study conducted in 1999 and 2021 in the village of Kać. The data were collected through in-depth interviews.
